For thirty years the GOPers have been screaming about tax cuts for the “job creators”. The rich have gotten EVERYTHING they have wanted for those thirty years. And ya know what? FUCK em.
They have crashed our economy, stolen our jobs, our retirement, the middle class, our manufacturing base, shipped our most top secret technology to the Chinese, bought off our media and now they are buying our elections right out in the open. They have screwed us in ways that would make the authors of the kama sutra blush.
They should be taxed a million dollars a year for every job that leaves the country. They should be taxed a billion dollars a day for every factory they close. ALL of the banking/insurance/hedge fund executives should be jailed for life, their assets seized, their families deported.

The Supreme court should be investigated for blatant conflict of interest, impeached and tried for theft and treason. It’s not until there are real consequences that we can save our country from the fascists who have taken it from us. No I’m NOT kidding. We have to take what’s left of OUR country back from the evil aristocracy that has built a gated fortress within our borders. I believe in evolution NOT revolution. Knowlage is power, GET some. Realize your vote is ALL you have, protect it and then DO it. You can’t see the eagle with your chin on your chest, look UP not DOWN when you want to see the cause of our HUGE problems. And most importantly, STOP whining, START organizing while it’s still legal.

Apparently the kill at will bill was passed because of hurricanes. When disasters strike and there is no longer a cohesive government to assist those affected, sometimes people who are desperate to survive will take bread and water from blown down stores. SO, they need to be executed on sight. We can thank ALEC, the NRA Walmart and the cowards in the GOP for pushing this nonsense. BUT if you give the whole state budget to corporations in the form of tax cuts and have to eliminate first responders, the bubba patrol is all you have left. McKenna and the rest of the GOP are licking their chops waiting to take over THIS state. IF you don’t believe that the Scott Walker, Rick Snyder, Rick Scott and John Kaschich travesties can’t happen HERE, you are sadly mistaken.

I have a lot of stuff going upside down in my life right now. Like most Americans my life is an almost constant worry from month to month. Things aren’t like they used to be. On top of having to deal with the death of Sheena two years ago, on top of all the financial stuff blowing up, I now have to worry about the state legislature gutting my living daughter Amy’s benefits.

I wasn’t very worried about the Democrats killing programs that serve the most vulnerable because they are after all, Democrats. MOST of them. Except MY Senator. Although he does have a “D” after his name, he crawled into the republican caucus and is now doing their bidding. They have jammed a stick into the spokes of the wheel of the budget deal we all thought they had worked out. Until last night they did. I sat stunned as I heard MY Senator say NO time after time for hours. Childcare for poor working single mothers “NO!”, Medical care for the mentally ill to get their medication “NO”, aid for medically fragile disabled children in schools “NO”, Help for people with disabilities “NO”!

Keep in mind that this guy represents ME and Amy. Every one of those “NO”s were spoken in MY name AND Amy’s name. This dropped on the Senate like a lightning bolt. This guy had set all this up behind our backs. He was conspiring to pull this crap with nobody knowing about it except for the republicans he loves so much. SO, they took control of the Senate floor, jammed through a bunch of crap that hadn’t been heard in committee, gutted the budget, and guaranteed an extended session that in and of itself will cost the taxpayers millions of dollars and also set up a contentious nightmare of a budget battle that will cause havoc for ALL citizens in this state.

This is purely politics. This is supposed to make us all so angry that in November we will “throw the bums out”. Of COURSE Democrats will be blamed for this mayhem despite the FACT that it was republicans AND my “democrat” senator who caused this on purpose.

I am SICK of the bullshit republicans are pulling in DC. They are doing everything in their power to block anything that could help us recover from the depression THEY caused. The GOP presidential candidates have reached new lows in their idiotic discourse. NOW I have MY senator who is supposed to represent ME pulling the most outrageous coup in our state’s history. For the opposite party.

As if I didn’t have enough to worry about, now I am scared to DEATH that this cooked-up coup will decimate our family even worse than it is now. Thanks Jim. GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!!!

I am watching Paul Ryan on Meet the Press. Paul, I didn’t go to the store today because I don’t have any money. Tens of millions of other Americans also didn’t go to the store because they don’t have any money. Me and tens of millions of other Americans didn’t pay any sales tax because we didn’t go to the store because we don’t have any money. We don’t have any money because many of us lost our jobs because of republican policies.

It’s really very simple. If Americans don’t make anything, Americans can’t buy anything. There HAVE been increases in private sector job creation. They have been offset by states with republican governors and legislatures. They have gutted their budgets by giving billions in further tax cuts away to corporations who do NOT hire people. They also have fired hundreds of thousands of police officers, teachers and firefighters. So the citizens in those states are less safe and their children are less educated. AND their tax base and collections are way less.

IF the US government follows the republican state legislators by cutting what our government does, this country will cease to exist as we know it. Austerity like we see in Greece will foster the same reaction. We are better than this. You’re wrong congressman ryan. And Americans know it. I hope your party keeps talking about contraceptives. That’s working well. For us.

For hundreds of years women have suffered at the hands of angry, white, male Christians. Women have been blamed for taking the bite of the apple and destroying the garden of Eden. They have been paying for it ever since and continue to pay for it to this day. I am a child of the 50s and 60s. I remember what the “traditional” household was like. Mothers stayed home and took care of the kids, the home, joined the PTA and quietly went crazy. SOME women enjoyed this role, others did not. IF a woman worked outside the home, the neighbors would say “She WORKS???”.

The 60s were a time of great change. The women’s liberation movement was not just about sex and “free love”. It was a time where women were empowered to make decisions about their place in life, their careers, their education, when and if they decided to have children and “the pill”. This was a HUGE controversy when I was a kid. The thought of a woman having sex without taking a chance of becoming “with child” was unthinkable. There was a sexual revolution and MEN were supposed to take control of contraception with latex products. They didn’t do a very good job. Tens of thousands of women especially those who lived in poor southern states had as many as eight to ten kids. SOME becoming mothers as young as 14.

THEN there was Roe V Wade. A woman’s right to privacy in issues of her own healthcare decisions, THAT’S what the Supreme Court decided. The effect of course was to legalize abortion. THAT set the dominating mens club on fire. All of a sudden within a generation, men could no longer have complete control of women. They were “libbers” and “feminazis” bent on the destruction of the American AND Christian way of life.

This mindset at times festers beneath the surface like a herpes virus. Right now it is active like a festering open sore dripping and oozing for the whole world to see. The reason? It’s an election year. The republicans have NOTHING to run on. They have NO accomplishments to hold up and say “WE did this”. The last thing republicans did that benefited the American people was over 60 years ago. That was the interstate highway system. And even THAT was for national security reasons, for quick transport of military resources across the country in case we were attacked. There are sections of our freeways that could operate as airstrips if necessary. SO, they can’t run on the economy, they trashed it. They can’t run on foreign policy they damn near destroyed it. They can’t run on prosperity, they destroyed it. Education, healthcare, infrastructure, domestic manufacturing, jobs, reigning in the out of control banking system, immigration, the safety net and organized labor. ALL a disaster for the GOP. And despite a complicit media, despite tens of MILLIONS of dollars provided by a few very wealthy benefactors and despite a supposed powerhouse teaparty, Americans are NOT buying it. Even Republican women are NOT comfortable with the recent attacks on all women. 98% of CATHOLIC women defy the churches “teachings” about contraceptives.

So whenever you hear angry white conservative men decrying contraception as an attack on religious freedom. Think “They got NOTHIN” or “They are DESPERATE to change the subject”. The women of the United States may be many things. They are nurturers, they are hard workers, they are educated, they are fierce defenders of their families, they are voters and they have sex. OOOOOOOOO sex. But the vast majority of them are NOT stupid. They have worked really hard to wrestle their rights away from neanderthal, fundamentalist, controlling, angry, white, Christian males. They are NOT going back. I firmly believe this action on the part of the GOP and their fundamentalist allies will cause a backlash that will last a generation at voting booths across the country.
